BLACK COUNTRY PICKLEBALL FESTIVAL & POP UP SHOP | Friday 13 - Sunday 15 September 2024

This weekend festival is being held at WLV Sport, University of Wolverhampton, Walsall Campus, Magdalane Road, Walsall, WS1 3TA.

Participants will have the opportunity to play as much or as little as they want, from 10am to 5pm on Saturday and 10am until 4pm on Sunday. We will have exclusive use of the main hall, which will include 8 pickleball courts. The cost of playing at the festival over the weekend is £60 per person, or £35 for either the Saturday or Sunday.

Players can also join us on Friday evening between 6pm and 9pm for recreational play.

The festival is open to players of all levels, especially club players who want to practice their ‘match play’ in an informal, fun environment, playing with, and against, people from different clubs. Festivals are a great way to practice match play because unlike tournaments, scores are not recorded, and ratings are unaffected.

Players will play in fun, yet competitive doubles games to 11. This event is primarily for doubles play, although singles play may take place if courts are available later in the day.

Non-players are welcome to attend free of charge and there is a viewing balcony overlooking the courts.

WLV Sport is fully accessible and has ample car parking. It has changing rooms and shower facilities, but there is no on-site café so please bring a packed lunch. The venue has vending machines, selling snacks and bottled drinks. There is also a Co-Op Food Store 10-minutes’ walk away.

Pickleball People will bring their pop-up shop, selling paddles from leading brands, together with balls, nets, bags, clothing, etc. They will also bring over 80 demo paddles for you to try.
